From November 8 to November 12, 2023, the jubilee edition of the Japanese-Serbian Film Festival (JSFF) is scheduled to captivate audiences under the enticing theme "LASTING." The festival, which promises a five-day intensive cultural cinema experience, will be held at the esteemed Yugoslav Film Archive (Jugoslovenska Kinoteka) and Cineplexx Galerija Beograd.

JSFF, a cherished festival of cross-cultural exchange with a profound focus on film, has been a long-standing tradition in both, Belgrade and Tokyo. It is organized by the CULTCRAVE Association for the development and promotion of Art and Culture, with generous support from the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Serbia and the City of Belgrade.

This year's theme, "Lasting," celebrates the concept of "duration" as a powerful force that transforms stories into legends, emphasizing enduring values that survive the test of time, becoming a testament to success. The JSFF selection will showcase a diverse array of works that evoke the "Lasting" metaphor, character, or motif within social and physical contexts.

The festival's 10th anniversary edition features four compelling program categories:

  1. Feature Film (Competition Lineup)

  2. Short Film (Competition Lineup)

  3. Animation

  4. J-Drama (Japanese TV Series)

As in previous years, JSFF will honor outstanding cinematic achievements with awards, including the recognition of the best Serbian and Japanese feature films, three prestigious awards in the short film category, and a special honorary award that celebrates enduring contributions to cinema.

The JSFF 10th anniversary promises to uphold its tradition of delivering a rich selection of films, complemented by thought-provoking panels, enlightening masterclasses, captivating exhibitions, and vibrant celebratory parties.

Join us in commemorating a decade of cinematic excellence at the Japanese-Serbian Film Festival, where "Lasting" stories and memories are created, cherished, and shared.
